LOVE SWEETS?

 In News, Uncategorized, Uncategorized

If you love sweets, you know to be aware of cavities. The good news is that you can still enjoy sugary treats, as long as you take care of your teeth!

Make sure to brush often! Even if you are busy running around, carry a portable toothbrush with you. So even after you indulge in a sugary dessert or snack, you’ll be able to get the sugar off your teeth without waiting too long. You can also use mouth rinse to remove sugar if you are without a toothbrush. If your mouth rinse has fluoride, even better! If you are without both, you can even use plain water – these options are better than letting sugar sit on your teeth.

Additionally you can also chew sugar-free gum to help clean your teeth after sweets. The increase in saliva production will help to remove the sugar left on your teeth.

If you can make the choice to swap out your sugary snack for another alternative, we suggest you do so! However, if you don’t want to switch your donut for a banana, we understand! You can still make some better choices for your teeth. For example, a slide of pound cake does not have the same effects as a chocolate fudge brownie which may leave more sugar on your teeth for longer due to its sticky nature!
